System Administration: Smarter, Safer Snapshots

Snapshots have always been a cornerstone of system administration—serving as your safety net for backups, migrations, and troubleshooting. Now your snapshots are becoming smarter and safer: MYOB Acumatica 2025.2.1 introduces ways to make them more reliable and comprehensive.

What’s New and Why It Matters

  • Excluding multilanguage and user-defined field values together with their DAC tables

    The KvExt tables store multilanguage and user-defined field values that are used in other data access class (DAC) tables. Now, when you exclude a certain DAC table from the snapshot, the respective KvExt table will also be excluded from the snapshot. This change helps prevent rare but serious issues when restored snapshots conflict with KvExt data — keeping your backups clean and consistent.

  • Including customization project files

    Customization project files are now included in a snapshot even when you create the snapshot without attachments. You no longer have to re-import your customizations after restoring snapshots. Starting in the 2025.2.1, these files will always be preserved, even when you create snapshots in Full except Attachments and Wiki or Full except Attachments export modes.

Together, these changes reduce the risk of data issues when you're using snapshots for backup, migration, or troubleshooting, while ensuring data integrity and retaining essential customization files.
