Control Access with Built-In User Roles

A predefined set of project- and construction-related roles simplifies user access management. Assigning these roles prevents unauthorized access to sensitive data because users see only the forms they need in their daily work.

As a system administrator, you can assign the following predefined roles to users.

Role Provides Access To Description
PJ Admin Construction management settings Has access to construction-related configuration and maintenance forms—but not to forms with project-related documents, such as RFIs or project issues
PM Admin Project management settings Has access to configuration and mass processing forms—but not to forms with project-related documents
PM Financial Controller Project-related financial analytics Has full access to:
  • Project budget, transactions, and quotes; change management documents; and project- and construction-related reports
  • Tasks, events, activities, and incoming and outgoing emails
  • Approvals, employee time cards and activities, equipment time cards, expense claims, and expense receipts
  • AR and AP project-related reports

Can view projects

PM Operations Manager Project management analytics Has access to financial and operational reports, including budgeting, with full access to:
  • Budget and budget forecast, change management documents, date-sensitive cost projections, pro forma invoices, and project quotes
  • Subcontracts and compliance management documents
  • Tasks, events, activities, and incoming and outgoing emails
  • Approvals, employee time cards and activities, equipment time cards, expense claims, and expense receipts
  • AR and AP project-related reports

Views daily field reports, photo logs, and submittals

PM Project Manager Project management functions and analytics Oversees project execution and oversight to meet the owner's (customer's or general contractor's) expectations. Has full access to:
  • Projects, project tasks, budget and budget forecast, transaction details, commitments, date-sensitive cost projections, project quotes, and pro forma invoices
  • Change management documents and subcontracts
  • Daily field reports, photo logs, RFIs, project issues, and compliance management forms
  • Tasks, events, activities, and incoming and outgoing emails
  • Approvals, employee time cards and activities, equipment time cards, expense claims, and expense receipts
  • AR and AP project-related reports

Views progress worksheets, drawing logs, and submittals

PM Project Manager Assistant Project administration functions and analytics Manages project execution and oversight by performing operational work. Has full access to:
  • Projects and their templates, project tasks and their templates, budget and budget forecasts, transaction details, commitments, and project transactions
  • Project quotes, pro forma invoices, and their correction history
  • Change management documents, subcontracts, submittals, expense receipts, and drawing and photo logs
  • Project performance, profitability, and progress reports; vendor compliance documents; and lien waivers
