Production Transactions

Form ID: (IN308000)

Attention: This form is available only if the Inventory and Manufacturing features are enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

You use this form to review batches of production-linked inventory transactions. On dedicated tabs, you can see related inventory movements, journal transactions, and any linked cost transactions.

Form Toolbar

The form toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Form Toolbar and More Menu.

Summary Area

This area contains the basic settings of the production transaction.

Element Description
Reference Nbr.

The unique reference number of the production transaction, which the system automatically assigns in accordance with the numbering sequence assigned to production transactions on the Inventory Preferences (IN101000) form.

Status The current status of the production transaction.
Date The date when the production transaction was created. All inventory transactions linked with this production transaction have this transaction date.
Post Period The financial period to which the inventory transactions should be posted.
External Ref. The external reference number of the inventory document (for example, the vendor's reference code).
Description A brief description of the production transaction.
Total Qty. The total quantity of included inventory items, which the system calculates automatically.
Total Amount The total amount, calculated as a sum of the amounts for all inventory transactions included in this production transaction.

Details Tab

This tab has a table with the inventory transactions included in the production transaction.

Table 1. Table Toolbar

The table toolbar includes standard buttons and buttons that are specific to this table. For the list of standard buttons, see Table Toolbar. The table-specific buttons are listed below.

Button Description
Line Details

Opens the Line Details dialog box, where you can review subitems, locations, lot or serial numbers, quantities, and expiration dates for the line's inventory item.

This button is available if at least one of the following features is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form: Multiple Warehouse Locations or Lot Serial Tracking.

Inventory Summary Opens the Inventory Summary (IN401000) form so that you can view item availability data.
Table 2. Table Columns
Column Description
Branch The branch of the inventory transaction.
Tran. Type The type of inventory transaction.
Inventory ID The identifier of the inventory item.
Warehouse The warehouse involved in the inventory transaction.
Location

The warehouse location involved in the inventory transaction.

This column appears only if the Multiple Warehouse Locations feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

Quantity The quantity of the specified inventory, which is shown in the units of measure indicated below.
UOM The unit of measure used for the inventory item.
Unit Price The price of the specified unit of this inventory item.
Ext. Price The extended price of the specified inventory item, calculated automatically as the unit price multiplied by the quantity of the inventory item involved in the inventory operation.
Unit Cost The cost of a unit of the inventory item.
Ext. Cost The extended cost of the specified inventory item. An extended cost is calculated automatically as the unit cost multiplied by the quantity of units involved in this transaction.
Lot/Serial Nbr.

The lot or serial number of the inventory item.

This column appears only if the Lot and Serial Tracking feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

Expiration Date

The expiration date of the specified inventory item.

This column appears only if the Lot and Serial Tracking feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

Reason Code The reason code for the inventory transaction.
Project

The project with which this transaction is associated, or the non-project code, which indicates that this transaction is not associated with any project. If the location selected in the line is linked to a specific project, the system will specify this project by default.

The non-project code is specified on the Projects Preferences (PM101000) form.

The column is available if the Projects feature group is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form and integration of projects with inventory has been enabled (that is, the IN check box is selected in the Visibility Settings section on the Projects Preferences form).

Project Task

The particular task of the project with which this transaction is associated. If you select a project that has the default project task, this task is automatically populated in the column. If the location selected in the line is linked to a specific project task, the system will insert this project task by default.

The column is available if the Projects feature group is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form and integration of projects with inventory has been enabled (that is, the IN check box is selected in the Visibility Settings section on the Projects Preferences (PM101000) form).

Description A brief description of the transaction.

Costs Tab

On this tab, you can review the cost transactions associated with the production transaction.

The table toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Table Toolbar.

Column Description
Tran. Type The transaction type of the cost batch entry.
Ext. Cost The total amount of the entry.
Account The offset, or variance account, to the WIP account.
Subaccount The offset, or variance subaccount.
Tran. Description The description of the transaction that indicates its source.
Order Type The order type of the production order.
Production Nbr. The linked production order.
Operation ID The related operation of the production order.
Quantity The quantity of the inventory item manufactured from the production order.
Ref. Cost ID A specific record type for the cost transaction. For labor, it is the work center when labor is backflushed or the employee ID when labor is reported. For overhead, tools, and machines, the reference is the ID of the source.
Branch The branch of the cost transaction.
Project

The project associated with the cost transaction.

Project costs will be affected by this cost transaction if the production order is integrated with the project (that is, if the Update Project check box is selected in the Project section of the References tab of the Production Order Maintenance form).

This column appears only if the Projects feature group is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features form.

Project Task

The project task associated with the cost transaction.

This column appears only if the Projects feature group is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features form.

Financial Tab

This tab displays the reference number and the branch of the batch generated upon the release of the inventory transactions.

Element Description
Batch Nbr. The reference number of the batch generated for the inventory transaction. Click the number to open the Journal Transactions (GL301000) form and view the details of the transactions.
Branch The branch where inventory transactions occurred.

Manufacturing Tab

This tab displays the reference number and branch of the batch generated upon the release of the production transaction.

Element Description
MFG Batch Nbr. This is a link to the production management transaction that created the inventory transaction. Clicking the link opens the source form.
MFG Document Type This identifies the source form that created the issues and will be the batch number created by using the Materials (AM300000) or Labor (AM301000) form.

All production management processes that report operations where material is backflushed will always create a materials batch and an issues batch.
