Physical Inventory Locked Items

Form ID: (IN409000)

Note:
This form is available only if the Inventory feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

On this form, you can view the list of inventory items that have been added to all physical inventories in progress in a particular warehouse. The system locks (or freezes) location-item pairs—that is, particular inventory items in specific warehouse locations—when a physical inventory count containing these pairs is in progress. This means that a user cannot release an inventory document (such as an inventory receipt or issue) that includes a locked item at the specific location; they also cannot run a physical inventory count if it includes the locked items at the specific locations. In these cases, the system displays an error message. Users can open this form to view the list of locked items.

The form toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Form Toolbar and More Menu.

Summary Area

In this area, you select a warehouse in which physical inventory counts may be in progress. You can narrow the data to be displayed in the table by selecting an inventory item ID or a reference number of the physical inventory document.

Element Description
Warehouse

Required. The warehouse where the physical inventory counting is being performed.

This box appears only if the Multiple Warehouses feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

Inventory ID The inventory item for which a row or rows will be listed in the table.
Reference Nbr. The reference number of the physical inventory document for which rows will be listed in the table. You can select a reference number from the list of only those reference numbers of physical inventory documents with the Counting in Progress or Data Entering status, as specified on the Physical Inventory Review (IN305000) form.

Table

In this table, the system lists the items that meet the criteria you have specified in the Selection area as follows:

  • If you have selected only the warehouse, the table lists items included in physical inventories of all types except Full. For physical inventories of the Full type, the system displays one aggregated row for all included items and a separate row for each excluded item.
  • If you have selected a reference number of a particular physical inventory, the table lists items included in this inventory.
  • If you have selected an inventory item, the table lists a row or rows for this item. (An item can be included in multiple physical inventories in progress if the item is stored in multiple locations in the warehouse.)

The table toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Table Toolbar.

Column Description
Row Number The sequence number of the row in the table.
Reference Nbr. The reference number of the physical inventory document in which this item is included. Items are listed only if the physical inventory has the Counting in Progress or Data Entering status.
Inventory ID The identifier of the inventory item that is included in the physical inventory count (for a physical inventory of any type except Full) or excluded from the count (for a physical inventory of the Full type). If the inventory item is excluded from the count, the Excluded check box is selected in the row with the item.
Description The description of the inventory item.
Excluded

A check box that indicates (if selected) that the inventory item is excluded from a physical inventory of the Full type. You can exclude items from a physical inventory on the Prepare Physical Count (IN504000) form when you are preparing a physical inventory.

For physical inventories of other types, items excluded from the count are not listed on this form.

Frozen

A check box that indicates (if selected) that the inventory item cannot be added to shipments and inventory documents (such as inventory issues and transfers) because the system locks (or freezes) items included in physical inventories in progress.

If the Unfreeze Stock When Counting Is Finished check box is cleared on the Physical Inventory Types (IN208900) form, items are frozen until the physical inventory is completed or canceled.

If the Unfreeze Stock When Counting Is Finished check box is selected, this check box is cleared for an item when counting is finished but the physical inventory is still in progress.

Important:
Unfreezing stock items before releasing an adjustment may cause discrepancies in the quantity or cost of stock items.
