Recalculate Inventory

Form ID: (IN505000)

Note: This form is available only if the Inventory feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

You use this form to recalculate the quantities of stock items available at warehouses. The process recalculates availability data for the items based on all open inventory documents and open sales and purchase orders. You can view the list of stock and non-stock items registered in the system and perform recalculation for all stock items at a selected warehouse or for only the selected stock items at this warehouse. For details on availability calculation, see Availability Calculation Rules: General Information.

Tip: We recommend that you perform the recalculation after you change the item availability calculation options—the system will recalculate the item availability and allocation data in accordance with the options selected most recently. The recalculation process does not update the cost layers.

During the recalculation process, if the system recovers available quantities of specific stock items, it attempts to update plans for sales orders with the Back Order status created for these items. Starting from the earliest back order, the system checks the quantity on the back order. If the quantity is equal to or less than the recovered quantity, the system moves the respective quantity to a Booked plan and switches to the next back order until either all recovered quantities are applied or all back orders are checked.
