Sales Profitability Analysis

By using this form, you can view and export all the details you may need to analyze sales profitability. You specify the branch and the time range for which you want to get data, and the system displays the details of the transactions generated by the system when documents were released within the selected time frame. You can specify additional criteria to narrow the list of transactions.

Form Toolbar

The form toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Form Toolbar and More Menu.

Selection Area

You use the elements in this area to specify the branch and the date range for which you want to view the list of transactions, as well as other criteria to determine which transactions are listed.

Element Description
Branch The branch for which you want to view the list of transactions.
Start Date The starting date in the date range for which you want to view the list of transactions.
End Date The ending date in the date range for which you want to view the list of transactions.
Completed transactions only A check box that indicates (if selected) that only completed transactions will be displayed. A transaction is considered completed if the inventory issue for the stock item sold in this transaction is released. For details, see Inventory Issue Processing.
Salesperson The identifier and name of the salesperson that was involved in sales for the transactions to be listed. Leave the box blank to view broader range of results.
Item Class The inventory item class for which you want to view information. Leave the box blank to view the sales profitability information for all inventory item classes.
Item The inventory item for which you want to view information. Leave the box blank to view the sales profitability information for all inventory items.
Customer Class

The customer class for which you want to view information. Leave the box blank to view the sales profitability information for all customer classes.

The list of classes may be limited based on the roles assigned to the user account to which you are signed in if the Customer and Vendor Visibility Restriction feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form. With the feature enabled, the Restrict Visibility To box appears on the General tab of the Customer Classes (AR201000) form. You can select a customer class if one of the following is true:
  • The Restrict Visibility To box is empty for the customer class—that is, the visibility of the customer class is not restricted.
  • A branch, company, or company group is specified in the Restrict Visibility To box for the customer class, and your user account is assigned to the role specified in the Access Role box of the Configuration Settings section of one of the following: the Branch Details tab of Branches (CS102000) form for the branch, or the Company Details tab of the Companies (CS101500) form for the company or a company within the company group.
Customer

The customer for which you want to view information. Leave the box blank to view the sales profitability information for all customers.

The list of customers available for selection may be limited based on the role or roles assigned to the user account to which you are signed in if the Customer and Vendor Visibility Restriction feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form. In this case, the Restrict Visibility To box appears on the Financial tab of the Customers (AR303000) form. With the feature enabled, a customer is available for selection if one of the following is true:
  • The Restrict Visibility To box is empty for the customer—that is, the customer’s visibility is not restricted.
  • A branch, company, or company group is specified in the Restrict Visibility To box for the customer, and your user account has the role specified in the Access Role box of the Configuration Settings section of one of the following: the Branch Details tab of the Branches (CS102000) form for the branch, or the Company Details tab of the Companies (CS101500) form for the company or a company within the company group.

Table

This table contains the list of transactions posted during the date range specified in the Selection area.

The table toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Table Toolbar.

Column Description
Branch The branch for which the transaction belongs.
Type The type of the document whose release triggered the transaction generation (invoice or cash sale).
Ref. Nbr. The identifier of the document. You can click the link to view the details of the Accounts Receivable document.
Date The date of the invoice to which the transaction belongs.
Net Sale The net sale amount of the sold item.
Cost A value that is one of the following:
  • If a non-stock item is sold with the transaction, the item's extended price
  • If a stock item is sold and the transaction is not completed, the item's estimated cost
  • If a stock item is sold and the transaction is completed, the item's final cost
Margin The difference between the net sale value and the cost.
Margin % A percentage of margin to net sale ratio.
Completed A check box that indicates (if selected) that the transaction is completed. That is, the inventory issue for a stock item sold with this transaction is released. If a non-stock item is sold, the transaction could not be completed. For details, see Inventory Issue Processing.
SO Nbr. The reference number of the sales order involved. Click the link to view the details of the sales order.
SO Type The type of the sales order involved.
Item Class The item class to which the sold inventory item is assigned.
Inventory ID The identifier of the sold inventory item.
Inventory Description The description of the sold inventory item.
Customer Class The identifier of the customer class of the customer who purchased the inventory item.
Customer Class Name The name of the customer class of the customer who purchased the inventory item.
Customer The identifier of the customer who purchased the inventory item.
Customer Name The name of the customer who purchased the inventory item.
Salesperson The identifier and name of the salesperson associated with the sale of the inventory item.
