Project Attributes

Form ID: (PM202000)

Project attributes are additional elements to gather and store information related to specific entity types in project accounting: projects, tasks, account groups, equipment, or service contracts. By using this form, you can add, view, modify, and delete project attributes to be used for particular entity types. You initially define attributes on the Attributes (CS205000) form.

Form Toolbar

The form toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Form Toolbar and More Menu.

Selection Area

In this area, you can select the entity type and then create, modify, or delete its attributes. If a group is defined for the entity type, the attributes will appear on the Attributes tab of the corresponding form (that is, the data entry form of the particular entity) so that users can specify the attributes when they create an entity of the type.

Element Description
Name The entity type for which you want to specify the attribute group. The following options are available:
  • Project: To add the listed attributes to the Projects (PM301000) form
  • Task: To add the listed attributes to the Project Tasks (PM302000) form
  • Account Group: To add the listed attributes to the Account Groups (PM201000) form
  • Equipment: To add the listed attributes to the Equipment (EP208000) form
  • Service Contract: To add the listed attributes to the Service Contracts (FS305700) and Route Service Contracts (FS300800) forms

This option is available only if the Equipment Management or Route Management or both features are enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

Table

In the table, you can create the list of attributes to be used for the specified entity type.

The table toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Table Toolbar.

Column Description
Active A check box that indicates (if selected) that the attribute is available for all records of a particular type. You can deactivate an obsolete attribute by clearing the check box—in this case, the deactivated attribute will no longer be displayed for records of the type, but all attribute values that have already been specified for existing records still will be stored in the database, so if you re-activate the attribute, its values will become visible in the system again.
Attribute ID The attribute identifier, which is specified on the Attributes (CS205000) form.
Description A read-only box showing the description that has been provided for the attribute.
Sort Order An integer that defines the position of the attribute in the list of attributes available for the entity type. You should specify 1 for the first attribute you want to be listed, 2 for the second, and so on.
Required A check box that indicates (if selected) that the user must specify a value for this attribute on the appropriate data entry form.
Control Type A read-only box displaying the element type of the attribute: Text, Combo, Check box, or Datetime.
