You use this form to define a piece of equipment that can be used for projects, fixed assets, and service management, and the rates for using this equipment.
Form Toolbar
The table toolbar includes standard buttons and buttons specific to this table, which appear if the Equipment Management feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form. For the list of standard buttons, see Table Toolbar. The table-specific buttons are listed below.

Extend to SM Equipment | Opens the Equipment (FS205000) form, which is used to define
equipment that is serviced by your company and equipment that can be
used to perform services, with the settings of the equipment copied
from the equipment you are viewing on the current form. You can
specify additional settings and save the equipment, so that it can
be used in the field services functional area of the system. This button is available if the Equipment Management feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form. |
View in SM Equipment | Opens the Equipment (FS205000) form, so that you can view the field
services settings of the equipment you are currently viewing if it
was previously extended for use in field services. This button is available if the Equipment Management feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form. |
Summary Area
You use the elements in this area to add a new piece of equipment, or to view the details of existing equipment.
Element | Description |
---|---|
Equipment ID | A unique identifier for the equipment. |
Description | The description provided for the equipment. |
Status | The status of this equipment. Select the Active or Inactive status, depending on whether the equipment should be available for selection. |
General Info Tab
You use the elements on this tab to provide general information about the equipment.
Element | Description |

Fixed Asset | The identifier of the fixed asset that is used as equipment. This box is available if the Fixed Asset Management feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form. |
Run-Rate Item | The rate non-stock item to be used for running equipment. |
Setup-Rate Item | The rate non-stock item to be used for the equipment setup. |
Suspend-Rate Item | The rate non-stock item to be used for the equipment in suspend mode. |
Run Rate | The default rate to be used to account for running the equipment. |
Setup Rate | The default rate to be used to account for the equipment setup hours. |
Suspend Rate | The default rate to be used to account for suspended equipment. |
Default Account | The default account associated with this equipment. |
Default Subaccount | The default subaccount associated with this equipment. This box is available if the Subaccounts feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form. |
Project Rates Tab
On this tab, you can specify the rates to be used for this equipment on different projects.
This tab is available if the Project Accounting feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

Project | The project for which this equipment is used. |
Description | The description of the project. |
Run Rate | The rate for running the equipment. |
Setup Rate | The rate for keeping the equipment setup. |
Suspend Rate | The rate for reserving (suspending) the equipment. |
Attributes Tab
By using this tab, you can specify which attributes can be used to categorize this piece of equipment. You can create new attributes for use with equipment by using the Attributes (CS205000) form.
The table toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Table Toolbar.
Column | Description |

Attribute | The attribute name. |
Required | A check box that indicates (if selected) that this attribute is required. |
Value | The value of the attribute specific for this equipment. |
