Project Financial Vision

Important: This form is available only if the Construction feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

On this form, you can analyze project expenses and revenues and investigate the financial performance of the project in the specified date range. The form shows aggregated project transactions broken down by the selected time period—year, quarter, month, or day—and grouped by the criteria that you specify in the Selection area.

Form Toolbar

The form toolbar includes standard and form-specific buttons and commands. For the list of standard buttons, see Form Toolbar and More Menu. The form-specific commands are listed in the following table.

Button Description
View Transactions Opens the Project Transaction Details (PM401000) form. This form shows the list of project transactions that correspond to the selected row.
Zoom In Switches the period of data aggregation to shorter time period, refining the data scope in the table to a finer granularity.
Zoom Out Switches the period of data aggregation to a broader time period, expanding the data scope in the table to a higher-level view.
Show Chart Opens the Chart dialog box, which shows a graphical representation of the cumulative project costs or revenues over the date range being analyzed.

Selection Area

You can use the settings in this area to narrow the period for which the data is collected and define the grouping criteria for the gathered information.

Element Description
Project Required. The project for which you are analyzing revenues and expenses.
Account Groups The type of account groups whose project transactions are included in the aggregated view. Select one of the following options: Expense or Revenue.
Period The time period to be used for each row of aggregated data. The selected period determines the way data is broken down in the table. The following options are available: Year (default), Quarter, Month, and Day.
Start Date The date that starts the date range for which you want to view aggregated data.
End Date The date that ends the date range for which you want to view aggregated data.
Project Manager The project manager of the selected project. The system automatically populates the project manager specified in the project on the Projects (PM301000) form.
Project Task The project task for which you want to view aggregated data. You can select a specific task or leave the box empty to view a broader range of data.
Account Group The account group for which you want to view aggregated data. You can select a specific account group or leave the box empty to view a broader range of data.
Inventory ID The inventory item (or the empty item code) for which you want to view aggregated data. You can select a specific inventory ID, the empty item code, or leave the box empty to view a broader range of data.
Tip: The empty item code, which is N/A by default, is defined in the Empty Item Code box on the Projects Preferences (PM101000) form.
Cost Code The cost code for which you want to view aggregated data. You can select a specific cost code or leave the box empty to view a broader range of data.

This box is shown if the Cost Code feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

Group By Project Task

A check box that you select to show project task information in the table and group the project transactions with the same project task as a single row in the table.

Group By Account Group

A check box that you select to show account group information in the table and group the project transactions with the same account group as a single row in the table.

Group By Inventory ID

A check box that you select to show inventory item information in the table and group the project transactions with the same inventory item as a single row in the table.

Group By Cost Code

A check box that you select to show cost code information in the table and group the project transactions with the same cost code as a single row in the table.

Description The description of the selected project. The system automatically populates the description specified in the project on the Projects (PM301000) form.
Project Start The date when the project starts. The system automatically populates the start date specified in the project on the Projects (PM301000) form.
Project End The date when the project ends. The system automatically populates the end date specified in the project on the Projects (PM301000) form.
Total Actual Amount

The total actual amount of the project. If Expense is selected in the Accounts Group box, this is the sum of the actual amounts of the cost budget lines of the project. If Revenue is selected in the Accounts Group box, this is the sum of the actual amounts of the revenue budget lines of the project.

Total Budgeted Amount

The total budgeted amount of the project. If Expense is selected in the Accounts Group box, this is the sum of the revised amounts of the cost budget lines of the project. If Revenue is selected in the Accounts Group box, this is the sum of the revised amounts of the revenue budget lines of the project.

Table

The table lists the actual quantity and amount aggregated based on the selected period and the range of data.

Column Description
Period Nbr. A sequential period number that indicates the order of time periods from the earliest to the latest. The system adjusts this numbering dynamically based on the selected period and the range of data.
Project Task The project task for which the project transaction information is aggregated.

This column appears if the Group by Project Task check box is selected.

Account Group The account group for which the project transaction information is aggregated.

This column appears if the Group by Account Group check box is selected.

Inventory ID The inventory item (or the empty item code) for which the project transaction information is aggregated.

This column appears if the Group by Inventory ID check box is selected.

Tip: The empty item code, which is N/A by default, is defined in the Empty Item Code box on the Projects Preferences (PM101000) form.
Cost Code The cost code for which the project transaction information is aggregated.

This column appears if the Group by Cost Code check box is selected.

Year The year for which the project transaction data in the row is aggregated.

This column is shown if Year or Quarter is selected as the Period in the Selection area.

Quarter The quarter of the year for which the project transaction data in the row is aggregated.

This column is shown if Month or Quarter is selected as the Period in the Selection area.

Month The month for which the project transaction data in the row is aggregated.

This column is shown if Month is selected as the Period in the Selection area.

Date The last date of the period for which the project transaction data in the row is aggregated.
Actual Quantity The actual quantity of the project transactions, which is aggregated from the start of the project to the date shown in the Date column.
Actual Amount The total actual amount of the project transactions, which is aggregated from the start of the project to the date shown in the Date column.
Actual PTD Quantity The actual period-to-date quantity of the project transactions, which is aggregated from the start of the selected period to the date shown in the Date column.
Actual PTD Amount The actual period-to-date amount of the project transactions, which is aggregated from the start of the selected period to the date shown in the Date column.
