Company Groups

On this form, you can create a company group—an entity that includes multiple companies that have access to the same set of customer and vendor records and have the same base currency. For reporting purposes, a company can be included in more than one group.

This form appears in the system if the Multicompany Support and Customer and Vendor Visibility Restriction features have been enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

Note: Users with the CS Admin and Administrator roles have the Delete rights to this form.

Form Toolbar

The form toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Form Toolbar and More Menu.

Summary Area

This area contains the summary information about the company group. You can select a company group by its ID to view or edit its information.


Element	Description
Group ID	The unique identifier of the company group. The ID structure is defined by the COMPANY segmented key.
Group Name	The full name of the company group. Use an alphanumeric string of up to 60 characters.
Currency ID	The base currency of the companies included in the group. This box appears on the form if the Multicurrency Accounting feature has been enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form. If the Multiple Base Currencies feature is enabled, the Currency ID box is required and empty be default for a new group. The currency can be selected from the list of active currencies. The currency can be changed for an empty group only if it is not associated with any customer or vendor. If the Multiple Base Currencies feature is disabled, the Currency ID box is unavailable for editing and is set to the tenant's base currency.

Table

This table holds information about a company or companies included in the company group. You can add or delete any company to which your user role has access. All columns in the table are read-only.

Column	Description
Company ID	The identifier of the company included in the company group. If the Multiple Base Currencies feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form, to a group, you can add only companies that have the same base currency ID as the currency of the group.
Company Name	The full name of the company included in the company group.
Primary Group	The identifier of the company group, which is the primary group for the company. The primary group can be set up for a company on the Company Groups tab of the Companies (CS101500) form.
Actual Ledger	The identifier of the Actual ledger used by the company.
