New Employee KiwiSaver Settings

Go to the Pay Details form (MPPP2310).

In the Employee ID field, select the employee whose KiwiSaver you want to set up.

On the KiwiSaver tab, add a new row by clicking the plus icon.

The Date of Change will be the system business date (change this if necessary).

Under KiwiSaver Eligibility, select New Employee.

The other settings you need to select depend on the employee's specific scenario:
Employee situation KiwiSaver Eligibility KiwiSaver Status Opted out of KiwSaver Existing rate reduction New Employee Existing KS member Not selected Auto-enrolled by employer The employee has just joined and has never been a member of KiwiSaver before.
They are eligible to enrol in KiwiSaver and:
- between the ages of 18 and 65
- the job is full time or permanent part-time
- the job is on a contract of at least 28 days
- the employee is a casual agricultural worker for more than 3 months
New Employee Auto enrol Not selected Opting out The employee is eligible to be auto-enrolled into KiwiSaver by the employer, but does not want to be a KiwiSaver member, and their first pay is completed 14+ days after employment start date.
New Employee Auto enrol Selected Also enter their date of opting out
Already a member and wants to stay a member
- The employee just started employment with the company
- The employee is over 65 and an existing KiwiSaver
New Employee Existing KS member Not selected Not eligible and not an existing member New Employee Not eligible Not selected Already enrolled and wants to opt out
The employee is over 65 and wants to opt out
New Employee Not eligible Selected Opting in For any employee over 65, casual or temporary, or eligible for KiwiSaver but not automatically enrolled by the employer
New Employee Opting in Not selected Non-casual who is not a member
The employee:

Just started employment with the company.

Is a casual/temporary employee.

Did not voluntarily opt-in
New Employee Casual / temp Not selected KiwiSaver member on a savings suspension New Employee Existing KS member Not selected -
If the employee will be receiving income that is exempt from KiwiSaver, under Income Exempt from KiwiSaver, select the reason for the exemption. If more than one reason applies, select the reason that accounts for the greater part of the employee’s pay. The other columns will not be editable for a new employee. Choose from:

Board-lodging

Taxable allowances accommodation

Voluntary Bonding Scheme

Retiring allowance
-
Overpayment of employer’s super cash contribution

Honoraria payments

On the form toolbar, click the Save icon.
