Forecast
Form ID: (AM202000)
You use this form to manually add forecasts used by the process of inventory planning regeneration performed on the Regenerate Inventory Planning (AM505000) form and view generated forecasts. You can use the Generate Forecasts (AM502000) form to generate forecasts.
Before you can start creating forecasts on the current form, you should make sure that the following tasks have been completed:
- A numbering sequence for forecasts has been created on the Numbering Sequences (CS201010) form.
- The numbering sequence has been specified on the Inventory Planning Preferences (AM100000) form.
Form Toolbar
The form toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Form Toolbar and More Menu.
Table
The table displays the forecast data for inventory items and subitems if configured.
The table toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Table Toolbar.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Inventory ID | The stock or non-stock item for the forecasted line. |
Subitem | The subitem of the inventory item. This column is visible only if the Inventory
Subitems feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features
(CS100000) form. Important: The Inventory
Subitems check box has been removed from the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form because the functionality
associated with the Inventory Subitems feature will be phased out. If you have
this feature enabled in your system, the associated functionality remains available. To
disable the feature, contact your MYOB support provider. |
Warehouse | The warehouse for the forecasted line. |
Interval | The
interval that the forecast will occur in the period of time
specified. The possible values are the following:
|
Begin Date | The start date of the date range for which the forecast is effective. |
End Date | The end date of the date range for which the forecast is effective unless another forecast having the same item and warehouse and optionally the customer has a begin date earlier than this end date. |
Quantity | The forecast quantity in the base units of measure. |
UOM | The base unit of measure for the item. |
Customer | The customer for the forecast line. The process of inventory planning regeneration will net sales orders for a specific customer against a forecast for that customer. If you enter a customer specific forecast, you should not enter a non-customer specific forecast because sales orders for the specific customer will net against both. |
Customer Name | The name of the customer for the forecast line. |
Dependent | A check
box that indicates (if selected) that the forecast is dependent
|
Active | A check box that indicates (if selected) that the forecast is active. A forecast is considered active if it is considered by the process of inventory planning regeneration. By default, this check box is selected and the system clears it when the end date has passed. |
Description | The description for the stock or non-stock item included in the forecast. |
Side Panel
By using the side panel, you can compare the forecasted demand with the actual demand for dependent forecasts.
The side panel has two tabs, each of which you can view by clicking the tab's icon. For ease of comparison, the ordered quantities displayed on the tabs are converted to the forecast's unit of measure.
Tab | Description |
---|---|
Forecast vs. Sales | You use this tab to review the forecasted quantity, the ordered quantity, and the quantity variance for each forecast interval of the selected forecast. |
Forecast vs. Sales Details | You use this tab to explore which sales orders consumed the forecasted demand. The table on this tab lists all sales orders that have been created for the item during the selected forecast interval, along with the ordered quantities and additional details from the corresponding sales order lines. |
