To Search Wikis

This article describes what searches are available in MYOB Acumatica Wiki and how to perform the searches. When you search wikis, you can do a quick search or a full-text search. To perform a search, you can use the Search box (in the navigation pane) and the Search form.

For more information on searching in MYOB Acumatica, see Search.

To Perform a Quick Search

When you perform a quick search, the system searches article properties, such as article IDs, categories, names, summaries, and keywords. It does not search the text of articles.

Note: For each article, a wiki author can specify a concise summary, an appropriate category (such as reference, overview, or procedure), and a list of keywords, so that wiki users can quickly find the information they need, even if they do a quick search.

To perform a quick search, do the following:

  1. In the navigation pane, in the Search box, type a word, a part of a word, or a phrase you're searching for.
  2. Click Search.
  3. On the Search form, click All Wikis to open the Search Form (SE000040). On the form, you will see a list of articles in all wikis whose properties contain the search word or phrase you entered in Step 1.
  4. Optional: Click the All Wikis arrow and select a wiki to see a list of articles in the selected wiki whose properties contain the search word or phrase you entered in Step 1.
  5. Optional: If you selected a particular wiki, click Advanced and then select check boxes for the wiki-specific categories you want the system to search. (This option is unavailable for the All Wikis scope.)

To Perform a Full-Text Search

For a full-text search, the system searches article properties as well as the full text of articles. The full-text search takes longer and may return articles that do not contain the information you hope to find. To ease the process of finding the required information, start by searching for a more specific word or phrase and then search for broader words or phrases if needed.

To perform a full-text search, do the following:

  1. In the navigation pane, in the Search box, type the word, part of a word, or phrase you're searching for.
  2. Click Search.
  3. On the Search form, click All Wikis to open the Search Form with the list of articles in all wikis whose properties contain the search word you entered.
  4. Optional: On the Search form, click the All Wikis arrow and then select a particular wiki to search within it, or select All Wikis to again search in all wikis. This step defines the scope of the search.
  5. Select the Full-text search check box.
  6. Optional: If you selected a particular wiki, click Advanced and then select check boxes for the wiki-specific categories you want the system to search. (This option is unavailable for the All Wikis scope.)
  7. Click Go to start the search.
