Inventory Item Access

Form ID: (IN103000)

By using this form, you can create restriction groups for managing the visibility of inventory items to users, or modify existing restriction groups by adding or removing users, item classes, or inventory items.

Note:
You can also use the Restriction Groups by Item (IN103020) form to manage the visibility of inventory items to users, but you cannot create restriction groups on this form.

Form Toolbar

The form toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Form Toolbar and More Menu.

Summary Area

In this area, you can enter the settings of a new restriction group or select an existing group and edit its settings.

ElementDescription
Group NameThe name of the restriction group. You can type the name of a new group or select an existing group.
DescriptionThe description of the restriction group. You can type a description if this box is empty or edit the existing description.
Group TypeThe type of the restriction group. You can select one of the following types: A, A Inverse, B, or B Inverse.

ActiveA check box that indicates (if selected) that the restriction group is active. You can clear the check box to make the group inactive, which means that restrictions imposed by the restriction group do not affect the visibility of entities to users.

By default, this check box is selected.

Users Tab

On this tab, you can view the list of users defined in the system and select those to be included in the restriction group.

The table toolbar includes only standard buttons. For the list of standard buttons, see Table Toolbar.

ColumnDescription
IncludedAn unlabeled check box that indicates (if selected) that this user is included in the restriction group.
LoginRead-only. The username of the user.
Full NameRead-only. The full name of the user.
CommentRead-only. The additional information that has been specified for the user on the Users (SM201010) form.

Item Classes Tab

By using this tab, you can view the list of item classes defined in the system and select those to be included in the restriction group. By default, the system will include the created items of this item class in this restriction group.

Note:
The visibility restrictions configured for an item class apply to only the inventory items of this class and do not affect the visibility of an item class on the Item Classes (IN201000) form.

Column Description
Included An unlabeled check box that you select to assign new items of this class to this restriction group by default.
Item Class Read-only. The ID of the item class that can be included in the restriction group.
Description Read-only. The description of the item class.

Inventory Items Tab

By using this tab, you can view the list of inventory items defined in the system and select those to be included in the restriction group.

Column Description
Included An unlabeled check box that indicates (if selected) that this inventory item is included in the restriction group.
Inventory ID The ID of the inventory item that can be included in the restriction group.
Note:
The empty item code that has been specified on the Projects Preferences (PM101000) form (which is N/A by default) cannot be included in a restriction group.
Description Read-only. The description of the inventory item.
