Item Costs and Valuation Methods: Related Forms and Reports

In the following sections, you can find reports and inquiry forms with information about costs of stock items.

Viewing Item Costs

You can view the costs of inventory by using the following reports:

  • Inventory Valuation (IN615500): You use this report to view the quantities on hand and the total cost of inventory by inventory account, as well as warehouses and cost layer types.
  • Historical Inventory Valuation (IN617000): You use this report to view the information about how the balances of the inventory accounts and the costs of the inventory items at different warehouses have changed in the selected time period or range of periods.
  • Inventory Balance (IN615000): You use this report to view the up-to-date information about the inventory items stocked at different warehouses including the warehouse ID, unit cost, quantity on hand, unavailable quantity, quantity of expired items, and available quantity.
  • Standard Cost Change Preview (IN617500): You use this report to estimate the changes in the total cost of inventory items that are stored at various warehouses and have the Standard valuation method before you update the standard cost of the items.
  • Inventory Summary (IN401000): You use this inquiry form to view the information about the estimated unit cost and estimated total cost of stock items.
  • Inventory Transaction Details (IN404000): You use this inquiry form to view summary information about inventory transactions posted within a selected financial period. You can set up criteria to display only specific data.
  • Inventory Transactions by Account (IN403000): You use this inquiry form to view detailed information about a selected account within a selected period, including the account balance and all related transactions.

Updating Item Costs

You can use the following forms for mass-updating of a cost of items that are assigned the Standard valuation method:

  • Update Standard Costs (IN502000): You use this form to enter new values and compare current and pending costs side by side for all inventory items.
  • Standard Cost Change Preview (IN617500): You use this report to review the changes before you update standard costs.
