AI Assistant: Available for Payroll Administrators

The 2026.1.3 release lets payroll administrators use AI Assistant chat to find answers to payroll inquiries, with access limited by licence type and user roles. Your payroll data stays private and secure and is not used to train global AI models.

Required User Licences and Roles

To access the assistant and the underlying payroll generic inquiries (GIs), you must have an eligible licence type and both required user roles.

The requirements depend on your site. If your site uses:

  • MYOB Acumatica — Payroll as well as ERP features, you must have a Full User licence and the AI Assistant and People Payroll User roles.

  • Only MYOB Acumatica — Payroll, you must have a Full User or Payroll User licence and the AI Assistant and People Payroll User roles.

Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS) users with People User licences do not have access to AI Assistant or the underlying payroll GIs. This helps keep sensitive payroll records secure.

Note:
After upgrading, if AI Assistant says it can’t find information for standard payroll inquiries, an administrator must run the processing batch on the AI Assistant Data Processing screen (ML503010).
