Kitset Parent Make to Stock
This form is enabled if the Kitsets module is in use.
Use this form to make inventory of kitset parents that are stocked. Items can be made in advance, so that they are available to meet future demand. The process involves issuing kitset component items and receiving the parent item into inventory.
Before running this process, use the Kitset Enquiry form to determine how much inventory of the parent item you can make, based on component availability.

Location
This field is enabled if you are using locations. Select the location to receive the kitset parent inventory into when all components have been issued.
Note: If the parent item is being received into a bin-managed warehouse, it is received into bins using the WBM receiving logic. You can view the bins into which it is received using the IN Adjustment transaction.
You can also hotprint a Bin Movement Report from the IN Transaction Entry form when it is viewed in enquiry mode by drilling down from the IN Item Transactions form.
Posting Date
Enter the posting date to set the accounting period for both the inventory and the general ledger transaction that are generated by this process. The default value is the system date.
Location View Options
If locations are in use, you can select to view component availability by individual location, warehouse, or in all locations. Make your selection before clicking the Apply button.
Apply
Click this button to apply the criteria and return component detail to the table.
Component Details Table
When the Apply button is clicked, the kitset component details displays in this table. These is taken from what is set up on the Kitset Maintenance form.
Locations and selections
If the component has an available quantity at more than one location and the location view option enables visibility of these, one line displays for each component/location combination. If the component quantity available is greater than quantity required in the nominated parent receiving location, the component line selects on Apply.
You can change default selections to issue components from a location of choice. If quantity changes are allowed for the component line, the quantity to issue may be edited to split across locations if required.
If the option to issue components at selling price is selected for the kitset, you must enter a Price Book into the component line, so the issue price can be determined. In the first instance, the price book is taken from the Defaults tab of the Module Control form.
Parent serial/lot/Component serial/lot
If the parent and/or component items are serial/lot controlled, you can enter or select serial/lot details for the items using this button. When you run the process, you are prompted to enter serial/lot detail if it is not already assigned.
Parent bins/Component bins
If the parent and/or component items are in a bin-managed warehouse, click these buttons to view bin details of the receipt (parent), and issue (components) of inventory into/from bin locations.
Substitute
If you are positioned on a component line in the table, and the component item has a substitute defined for it, click this button to view all substitutes for the item, and availability by location. You can select one of the substitute lines to use instead of the original component, and click OK to return to the enquiry table.
Greentree updates the table by substituting the original component with the selected substitute. The cost and price calculations references the substitute component item details and not the original component details.
Note: This option is enabled for component items that allow substitutions.
Process
Click the Save icon to process the make-to-stock transaction. If it isn't enabled, check that you have entered a valid reference for the transaction. You can only process the transaction if there is sufficient inventory of each component item to make the Quantity Required of the kitset parent. This occurs during the process:
- Greentree increases the
kitset parent on-hand quantity by the Quantity Required.
Note: If the parent item is being received into a bin-managed warehouse, it is received into bins using the WBM receiving logic.
The actual bins into which it is received can be viewed using the resultant IN Adjustment transaction. You can hotprint a Bin Movement Report from the IN Transaction Entry form.
Note: If the components are in a bin-managed warehouse, they are issued from bins using the WBM picking logic. The actual bins from which the components are issued can be viewed using the resultant IN Adjustment transaction. Click the Kitset button to display components of the transaction, and then Component bins to view the bins from which they were issued.
Cancel
