Disassemble Kitset

This form is enabled if the Kitsets module is in use.

Use it to disassemble stocked kitset parents, if the Inventory parent option for the item is selected. To disassemble kitsets, the parent item must have been made using the Kitset Make-to-Stock process.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Branch

This is taken from the User Preferences form if a branch is assigned there, otherwise it defaults from the Inventory Module Control form. You can select a different branch.

Batch number

This is a read only value assigned by Greentree Desktop when the process has completed.

Adjustment references

If the option to generate transaction references is not selected on the Inventory Module Control form, enter a unique positive and negative adjustment reference here, to use when the disassemble transaction is generated.

Adjustment types

These is taken from the kitset issue transaction types assigned on the Inventory Module Control form, but you can edit them before processing.

Tax code

Select the tax code to use for the transaction. You can only enter zero-rated tax codes.

Document/Posting date

These default to the current date, but you can change it.

Narration

The default value is Disassemble kitset but you can change or add to it.

Kitset parents

Enter or select the kitset parents you intend to disassemble (one line for each new parent), the Location (current location of parent), and the Quantity to disassemble. The Qty-on-hand and Unit of the parent at the selected location defaults to the line in read-only format. The narration defaults to the line, but you can change it.

Kitset components

When a parent and quantity have been entered, this table updates with the component items of the parent. The Location, Qty, and Unit can be edited before processing based on these rules:

  • If Validate locations is selected on the Inventory Module Control form, you can only select a location if it is set up for the component item on the Defaults tab of the Inventory Item Maintenance form. Otherwise, you can select any location for the component to be disassembled to.
  • The unit can be changed only if there is a conversion set up to convert the selected unit into the component item's stocking unit of measure. This is the unit that defaults to the line. The process performs a conversion.
  • If allow quantity change is selected for the component, the quantity can be increased or decreased. However, if allow quantity change is not true for the component, the quantity can only be decreased.
  • If allow line additions and/or allow substitutes is selected for the kitset, additional lines may be added to the component table

Note: In the case of a substitution, adjust the quantity for the item that is being replaced to 0.00 and add the new line.

Parent serial/lot/Component serial/lot

If the parent and/or component items are serial/lot controlled, you can enter or select serial/lot details for the items using this button. When you run the process, you are prompted to enter serial/lot detail if it is not already assigned.

Parent bins/Component bins

If the parent and/or component items are in a bin-managed warehouse, click these buttons to view bin details of the receipt, and issue of inventory into or from bin locations.

Click the Save icon to process the transaction(s). The kitset component items are debited with the quantity/cost and the kitset parent item is credited with the quantity or cost. The transaction effect is reversed for a disassemble transaction.

Note: If either the parent or the components are in a bin managed warehouse, they is received/issued into/from bins using the WBM receiving and picking logic.

You can view the bins into or from which items are received/issued using an inventory adjustment transaction. You can hotprint a Bin Movement report from the Inventory Transaction Entry form when it is viewed in enquiry mode by drilling down from the IN Item Transactions form.
