Station Details


Before you can access the Station Maintenance form, you must select these IN Control options:

  • Use Locations
  • Use Barcodes
  • Barcodes

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Station code

Enter a unique code to represent the station, up to 30 characters long. The default value is the name of the computer. If the station is set up and saved using this as the station code, Greentree assumes that this is the station that is being used when Sales Entry is accessed from that computer.

If a station is saved under a different code, Greentree prompts the user to specify which station they are using when they access the Sales Entry form from their computer.

Station Description

Enter a more extended description to represent the station.

Default location

Select a default inventory location from one that is set up in IN Location Maintenance. If multiple locations are in use, this location may be a warehouse or parent location, that has multiple lower-level locations attached to it. Only inventory items in the location selected here, or in any linked lower-level location, can be sold from the station.

Information The station branch selected in Station Location & Controls must be the same branch that this location belongs to. If the location is changed to one that belongs to a different branch than the station branch, a warning message indicates that the station branch will be changed to the location branch.

Default customer

Select a default customer from one that is set up in AR Customer Maintenance. The default value is the Sales Entry form when a transaction is entered at this station. This is commonly a Cash customer which is used generically for over the counter sales. You can change the customer during transaction entry.

InformationYou don't need to select a default customer here. If left blank, you must select the customer during transaction entry.

Bank account

If the Cash Management module is in use, you must select a bank account here. This is the account that are debited when a receipt transaction is processed at this station.

Location notes

This is a reference only field enabling you to enter any relevant notes about the station.

Fast entry options

These options provide additional security around stations. If the Login required option is selected, the person who wants to enter transactions at the station will have to login before accessing the Sales Entry form. If the Password required option is also selected, a password is also required.

Till opening balance       

Enter the amount of cash (float) that is in the cash drawer at this station before commencing transactions for each day. This is used in the Daily Sales Summary Report.

Receipt entry order

This list displays the receipt methods that have been set up in Receipt Method Maintenance. Click on a method and drag it to a certain position within the list. This represents the order in which the receipt methods will present themselves for selection at this station on the Sales Entry - Receipt form.
