To Assign an ABC Code to a Stock Item

When you want to select stock items for physical inventory by ABC codes, you must assign an ABC code to each item. You can do this manually by using the Stock Items (IN202500) form, as described in this topic, or the system will assign the ABC code automatically according to the code settings.

Note: To open any form, you can navigate to it or search for it (by its name or by its form ID without periods). For more information about search capabilities, see Search.

Before You Proceed

Make sure that all required ABC codes have been created on the ABC Codes (IN208500) form.

To Assign an ABC Code to a Stock Item

  1. Open the Stock Items (IN202500) form.
  2. In the Inventory ID box, select the stock item to which you are assigning the ABC code.
  3. In the Physical Inventory section of the General tab, do the following:
    1. In the ABC Code box, select the ABC code that will be assigned to the selected stock item.
    2. If needed, select the Fixed ABC Code check box to indicate that the ABC code should not be updated automatically.
  4. On the form toolbar, click Save.
