Installer


Run the setup.exe file in the Mobile Installer folder to load the mobile connection manager executable to the device. When the connection manager runs from the device, the device will connect to the server and download the mobile system.

To install the software on the device, the device must be connected using ActiveSync to a computer that contains the Installer folder.

Run the setup.exe file from the Installer folder and follow the instructions. Select the destination for installation and tap Install at the base of the form. Once the installation is complete, Greentree Desktop is available using an icon in the device's forms folder:

For these steps, the device can remain connected using ActiveSync, or disconnected from ActiveSync and connected to the local wireless network.

Tap the Greentree icon. Since this is the first time Greentree Desktop is run on the device, the connection settings form display, prompting you to enter the IP address and port number to use for the connection to the server.

Enter this:

  • Server address = server IP address
  • Server port = Connection Manager port number
  • Settings Group = Mobile
  • Select Online as the preferred mode of connection

    Note: Offline is not available.

Tap Connect to connect to the server and commence the process of receiving bin files to the device. Once the bin files are downloaded, the JADE splash form displays followed by the Mobile Login form.

Only a mobile user can log into this form. The user name and password are the same as those set up for the user on the User Maintenance form. Tap the Login hyperlink to log into Greentree Desktop.

If an alert or approval exists for the user (if the Approvals and Alerts module is in use), an Unread Alerts form displays before displaying the mobile application selection form.

The mobile application selection form displays icons for applications the current user has access to.
