Activity Code Group Maintenance

You can create activity code groups to assign to employees, indicating whether they have full or restricted access to activity codes when entering transactions or timesheets. Their choices when you enter a transaction is limited using the group assigned to them.

You can also assign activity code groups to jobs, which means that only codes in that group can be used on the job. When the job code is entered for a transaction, the selection of activity codes available is limited to those in the group assigned to the job.

You can use activity code groups as a filter to output information to the job cost management reports, enabling you to report on a specific activity code group or a range of activity code groups within work centres and/or jobs.

Click Add to set up a new activity code group. A form displays, prompting you to enter a group name. You can enter up to 30 characters.

Use the < (move selected) and << (move all) arrows to move codes into the Selected table, to make them part of the group. Click > and >> to move them back if you do not want them in the group.

The group saves as you create it, and you can select it to review or edit by clicking the Select group box. You can delete a group by selecting it and clicking the Delete button.

WARNING: If the deleted group had been previously assigned to a job or an employee, the assignment is removed when the group is deleted, leaving the job or employee with a empty activity group assignment.
