Advanced Pricing Maintenance

This form is enabled if the Advanced Pricing module is in use.

Use it to set up prices based on specific combinations that can be applied when you enter a transaction, and enables you to define prices at a group level, instead of at a specific item level.

You can set up prices for any of these combinations:

  • Customer Code/Inventory Item Code - The price is determined by the unique combination of customer code and inventory item code entered into the transaction line.
  • Customer Tree/Inventory Item Code - If the customer of the transaction line belongs to a customer tree or branch you specify, Greentree Desktop determines the price using the customer and inventory item code (and location, unit of measure, and currency if applicable) combination that is entered into the transaction line.
  • Customer Code/Inventory Item Tree - If the inventory item of the transaction line belongs to an inventory tree or branch you specify, Greentree Desktop determines the price using the customer code and inventory item combination (and location, unit of measure, and currency if applicable) that is entered into the transaction line.
  • Customer Tree/Inventory Item Tree - If the inventory item of the transaction belongs to an IN tree or branch you specify, and the customer of the transaction also belongs to a customer tree/branch specified here, Greentree Desktop determines the price using the customer and inventory item combination (and location, unit of measure, and currency if applicable) that is entered into the transaction line.
  • Customer Tree/Analysis Code - If the customer of the transaction line belongs to a customer tree or branch you specify, and the item has an analysis code specified here, Greentree Desktop determines the price using the customer and inventory item code (and location, unit of measure, and currency if applicable) combination that is entered into the transaction line.
  • Customer Code/Analysis Code - If the inventory item of the transaction has an analysis code you specify, Greentree Desktop determines the price using the customer and inventory item combination (and location, unit of measure, and currency if applicable) that is entered into the transaction line.
  • Price Book/Inventory Item Code - If the price book of the transaction is specified, Greentree Desktop determines the price using the price book and inventory item code combination (and location, unit of measure, and currency if applicable) that is entered into the transaction line.
  • Price Book/Inventory Item Tree - If the price book of the transaction is specified, and the inventory item of the transaction belongs to an inventory tree or branch specified here, Greentree Desktop determines the price using the price book and inventory item code combination (and location, unit of measure, and currency if applicable) that is entered into the transaction line.
  • Price Book/Analysis Code - If the price book of the transaction is specified, and the inventory item of the transaction has an analysis code specified here, Greentree Desktop determines the price using the price book and inventory item code combination (and location, unit of measure, and currency if applicable) that is entered into the transaction line.
  • Analysis Code Only - If the inventory item of the transaction has an analysis code specified, Greentree Desktop determines the price using the inventory item code (and location, unit of measure, and currency if applicable) that is entered into the transaction line.

Note: If you are going to set up advanced prices using a method involving a customer and/or item tree, you must specify the customer and inventory item trees that apply to pricing on the Options tab on the Inventory Module Control form.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Name

Enter a unique name to identify the special pricing configuration you are setting up (if you are editing or viewing an existing configuration, enter or search for the name and the other details defaults).

You can enter up to 30 characters when setting up a new pricing configuration.

Record Date Range

Select this option to indicate that the special pricing configuration you are setting up or editing is specific to a date range. If you select this option, enter the From and To dates that the pricing applies to.

Greentree does not reference the prices you set up when returning a price when you enter a transaction, if the transaction date falls outside this range.

Method

Select a pricing method to indicate what type of special pricing you are setting up. This is in read-only format if you have selected a Name that exists and are editing or viewing details.

When you click Setup, the next form that displays depends on the method you select here.

Setup

Click this button to set up pricing details, or to view and/or edit existing details.

Setting up prices for all other methods is the same as outlined in this example, but the combinations is using the method that is selected.

If the advanced pricing module is in use, an additional pricing feature is available, enabling the option to define alternative default price books for specific customer or item combinations.

Note: You can configure up to 500,000 prices within each pricing group.
