WebView Financial Reporting Overview

There are nine WebView Financial Reporting components to set up:

  1. Greentree Tree Maintenance – used to define levels of reporting.
  2. GL Account Tree Maintenance – used to assign general ledger accounts to the tree.
  3. User Maintenance – allows user access to WebView Financial reporting using the web.
  4. Style formats – enables you to format report text, for example, bold, colour, size, and the like.
  5. Security – used to assign reporting security around general ledger accounts.
  6. Row formats – used to define what you want to display vertically on the report.
  7. Column formats – used to define what you want to display horizontally on the report.
  8. Reports – used to create the reports that can be viewed using the web.
  9. Report Groups – used to group reports for easy reference and added security.

Once reports have been set up, they can be viewed using the web when a page is set up using Page Maintenance and that page is added to Menu Maintenance using a page type of other, along with the page name.

WebView financial reports can also be viewed using the Greentree Reports > General Ledger menu.

Tree Maintenance and User Maintenance are standard Greentree forms. The remaining set up forms are accessible using the System > WebView > Web Financial Reporting menu.

Exporting to PDF or Excel

You can export the results of an enquiry by clicking one of these buttons:

  • PDF, which opens the exported file in the program that's associated with PDFs on your computer.

To ensure you get the correct result displayed make sure the JHP server (or JADE server, if starting with the print and task queue) is being started as a named user and not as Local Account.

  • Excel, which opens the exported file in Microsoft Excel. If you do not have Excel installed on your computer, WebView prompts you to save the file.

Information The results will be exported exactly as you have them on the form. If you have expanded a level to show the detail then that is what will be exported. If you have a summary view shown then that is all that are exported.
