Selling Price Hierarchies

Greentree determines the selling prices for job cost transaction lines using the hierarchies outlined below. Where price books are in use, you must assign the price book to the job used in the transaction for the hierarchy to apply.

(A) Disbursement Transactions (source JC module)

If

• A JC price book (Material type) is set up for the activity code, use the price book sell rate.
• No sell rate is specified for the price book, use the price book markup %.
• No price book is found, use the activity code sell rate.
• No activity code sell rate is found, use the activity code markup %.
• No selling price can be determined, the price defaults to the transaction line cost.

(B) Purchase Transactions (source PO or Accounts Payable module)

If:

• A JC price book (Material type) is set up for the activity code or activity code/inventory item combination, use the price book sell rate.
• No sell rate is specified for the price book, use the price book markup %.
• No price book is found, use the activity code sell rate.
• No activity code sell rate is found, use the activity code markup %.
• No selling price can be determined, the price defaults to the transaction line cost.

  If the JC Module Control option Allow to change sell rate on PO/AP is selected, you can view and edit the default sell rate using the PO Entry, PO Receipt Entry, and AP Invoice Entry forms.

(C) Labour Transactions (source JC module)

If:

• A JC price book (Labour type) is set up for the activity code, activity code/employee type, or activity code/employee combination, use the price book sell rate.
• No price book is found, use the employee type sell rate.
• No selling price can be determined, the price defaults to the transaction line cost.

(D) Stock Transfer Transactions (source Inventory module)

There are two scenarios relating to JC stock transfer transactions:

1. JC Control option Generate Price from JC Price Book=true
   • If a JC price book (Material type) is set up for the activity code or activity code/inventory item combination, use the price book sell rate.
   • If no sell rate is specified for the price book, use the price book markup %.
   • If no specific price book combination can be found, the Default Inventory Price Level assigned to the price book for the job used in the transaction (you must assign a price book to jobs using JC Job Maintenance) determines the selling price. This is a price book that is set up in the Inventory module.
2. JC Control option Generate Price from Inventory =true
   • JC price books do not apply.
   • If the IN transaction type used for the transfer was a Transfer at selling price type, the price book assigned to the transfer line is used to determine the selling price.
   • If the IN transaction type used for the transfer was a Transfer at cost type, the IN Control default price book determines the selling price.

(E) Plant Charge

If:

• A JC price book (Material type) is set up for the activity code, use the sell rate from the price book of the client job.
• No sell rate is specified in the price book of the client job, use the sell rate from the price book of the plant job.
• No sell rate is found for the plant activity in the above price books, use the activity code sell rate on the plant charge transaction.

  The selling price for all JC cost lines is determined when the cost line is generated.
