Custom Tab
Use this tab to assign and display tree and user-defined field information for jobs. For more information about how and why these are set-up, see related topics:
If a job tree
is defined as Mandatory,
then you can't save a job masterfile unless you have allocated the job
to a branch in that tree.
You cannot remove a job from a tree using this form. This action must be performed using the JC Job Tree Maintenance form.
User-defined trees
To assign a job to a tree branch, double click the tree name in the table to display associated branches and then select or change the tree branch for the job (trees displays based on what is defined in UT Tree Maintenance for JC Jobs).
In this example, the Area tree is available to assign the job to. To do this, double click the Area row, and the tree structure (branches) will display, enabling you to select a branch, or sub-branch to assign the job to.
The benefit of assigning jobs to trees is that it enables you to add an additional reference/category to the job in terms of conducting analysis using Greentree Desktop's JADE Query or Inspection Tool utilities. In a future functional release, trees will also be able to be used to filter the output of job cost management reports.
You can also View Jobs using trees as a search criteria.
User-defined fields
User-defined fields are set up in JC User Field Maintenance. Use them to add your own reference to the job, which may be used as an extract criteria when performing analysis using Greentree Desktop's JADE Query or Inspection Tool utilities.
