Inventory Test Maintenance

Use this form to define tests and specifications required to quality control specific serial/lot controlled inventory items. It can be accessed using the System/Quality Control menu, or from Inventory Item Maintenance using the QC Tests button on the right side of the form.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Code/Description

Select the item for which the tests apply.

QC test is required

Select this option if tests must be applied every time you create a serial/lot for this item.

Note passed QC serial/lot status

Select a valid IN Status to automatically assign to serial/lots before they have passed relevant tests. This will typically be an in-active status, which means that you cannot select new serial/lots created for this item in transaction entry forms until tests have passed and an active status is subsequently assumed

InformationIf no status is selected here, the default is derived from QC Module Control.

Test form

Select the Inventory Test Form to use when printing inventory tests for this item.

Test results report

Select the Inventory Test Results Form to use when printing inventory test results for this item.

Tests are added to the table by selecting a classification code. You can add test detail or by clicking the Select Test button, which enables you to auto-default existing tests.

For example, a Microbial classification is set up. The remaining detail for the selected classification/test is entered into the table. The In Use checkbox indicates whether the test is currently in use for the item. This checkbox is selected for tests that are assigned.

You can also make each test Mandatory. This data must be captured/indicated when this test is assigned to an item:

  • Result
  • Pass
  • Analyst assigned
  • Date selected

You can also assign tests to items by clicking the Select Test button. For example, you can select a classification if it has tests assigned to it in Classification Maintenance. This is a quick way to assign tests to items where testing requirements are common to multiple items. If a specification was added to a test set up in Classification Maintenance, it is available using a dropdown list in the Specification column here.

Click the Save icon to update selections back to the main form.

Change Specification

Click the Change Specification button to modify the specification for a text. You can add new specification text lines for the test. You can only select one specification as being In Use. You can set up multiple specifications for the same test and select them as required rather than having to change them each time. A record of all specifications for the test are kept on record.

Click the Save icon to update any new specification to the main form.
