Set up serial/lot numbers and customer/supplier warranties on this tab. The defaults are the same for a serial number controlled item.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Lot Number
If you are creating a new number, enter the number in this field. The lot number must be in the correct format, and have the correct number of characters. If you want to retrieve an existing number, select it here.
The Lot Location Balances button displays if you select a number. Once a number is created, you can't edit it.
If the Inventory Module Control option Serial/Lot number is unique is selected, numbers must be unique across all items in Greentree Desktop. If you don't select this option, you can use the same number for more than one item, but not more than once for the same item.
Description
If you are creating a new number, enter a description for the lot/serial number (up to 30 characters). You can also select an existing description. The Lot Location Balances button displays if you select a description. You can edit a lot/serial number description after it is created.
Status
Each serial/lot number must have a status assigned. Statuses indicate whether the lot/serial number of the item is active or not active, or whether it is excluded from being used in certain transactions.
Expiry Date
If expiry dates are in use, enter an expiry date for the serial/lot number you are creating. If you select a serial/lot number, the expiry date of the number displays here.
Lot Location Balances
For an existing serial/lot number, click this button to see a summary of balances by location for the specific serial/lot number.
Supplier Warranty/Customer Warranty
If you are maintaining warranties for the item at a serial/lot controlled level, set them up here.
