Use expiry dates
Select this option to record expiry dates for serial/lot controlled items. You must enter an expiry date whenever a new lot or serial number is created. If expiry dates are in use, you can define controls to ensure the purchase and/or sale of items stays within the boundaries of expiry dates. For example:
- If you specify Do not purchase within 1 Month (Term), and today's date is 10/12/18, then you can't purchase a serial/lot controlled item if the expiry date for that item is 10/01/19 or less. Greentree prompts you with a message during transaction entry when serial/lot numbers are entered.
- If you specify Do not sell within 2 Weeks (Term), and today's date is 10/12/18, then you can't sell a serial/lot controlled item if the expiry date for that item is 24/12/18 or less. Greentree prompts you with a message during transaction entry when serial/lot numbers are selected.
Term options include: Days, weeks, months, and years.
Expiry date logic applies to the AP Invoice Entry and PO Receipt Entry forms for purchasing, and to the AR Invoice Entry, SO Entry (where lot numbers are required at entry), and SO Packing Slip Maintenance forms for selling.
