Hotprinting Labels

These options are available if label hotprinting is activated in IN Module Control. Click the Printer icon on the toolbar to hotprint a label. The Printer icon is enabled where a receipt batch has previously been processed for the shipment. A batch number is always required to hotprint labels and this is not generated for a shipment until the receipt is processed.

Label Printing Menu

When you click the Printer icon, you can select whether to print labels by batch (Labels by Batch), or using the current transaction (Receipt labels only).

Print Labels by Batch

If you select this option, labels generate using the transaction batch. The start and end batch references are set to the transaction batch you are positioned to when you click the Printer icon. Labels print for each qualifying inventory item contained within this batch reference, based on the label options for each item. If labels are hotprinted from PO Shipment Entry, the batch number for the receipt is the reference.

Print Receipt Labels Only

If you select this option, labels generate using the individual transaction reference. The start and end transaction references are set to the transaction you are positioned to when you click the Printer icon. Labels print for each qualifying inventory item contained within this transaction reference, based on the label options for each item.

Information

Rregardless of the option selected, labels may be reprinted for either a batch or individual transaction.

Exceptions

AP Invoice Entry

This form already uses the Printer icon to hotprint buyer-created invoices. An additional menu displays, where you can specify what you intend to hotprint. This is enabled if the invoice qualifies for having a buyer invoice printed.

PO Shipment Entry

The label printing menu is not enabled on the PO Shipment Entry form because the Print by Batch option is always the default. Labels print for the receipt batch for the recalled shipment.

FO Receipt Entry

The label printing menu is not applicable in relation to printing labels from FO Receipt Entry as the Print Receipt Only option will always be used by default. Labels print for the receipt transaction reference.

Printer Selection

Labels print to the label hotprint printer defined in User Preferences. If no default printer is found, the form enabling you to select a printer displays.
