Dimension Group Maintenance
Use this form to define a dimension group, which is a collection of dimensions, for a dimension type, that will commonly be assigned to items. The feature is useful where multiple items will have the same specific dimensions assigned to them.
The assignment of a pre-defined group (via the Assign Item Dimensions form) negates the requirement to repetitively assign individual dimensions to multiple items, where the items share common dimensions.

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Dimension type
If a default type is selected in IN Module Control, it defaults when the form is opened, but it may be overridden. You can select from any dimension type that is pre-defined in the Dimension Maintenance form. Groups always be for a dimension type.
Dimension group
Enter or select a dimension group (description) for the selected dimension type, up to 50 characters long. To assign dimensions to a group, enter them directly into the table. You can select any active dimension that is of the selected type. The conversion for the selected dimension will also default to the table.
Active
New groups are available to assign to an item using the Assign Item Dimensions form.
Default
You can only select one group as the default group. If selected, the group defaults to the Assign Item Dimensions form when dimensions are being assigned to items for the first time.
