Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Item number/description/stocking UOM

These all default in read-only format to the item number, description, and stocking UOM of the item that was selected in IN Inventory Item Maintenance when the form was launched. If you open the form from the Data Entry menu, enter or select the item here.

Dimension type

If a default type is selected in IN Module Control, it defaults when the form is launched for an item that does not yet have dimensions assigned. You can change the type.

Select the dimension type that is for the item. You can assign any active dimension for the selected dimension type to the item.

Dimension group

If you have set up a dimension group for the selected type, select it. If one of the previously defined dimension groups was specified as the default, it defaults to this field when the type is selected.

You don't need to select a dimension group. If a group is selected, the options Add group details to table and Override table details are enabled.

Add group details to table

If you have selected a group, click this button to assign all active dimensions of the group to the item. The table populates with the group dimensions. If you select this option, you can still add additional dimensions to the table, or delete dimensions, as long as no transactions have already occurred for the item/dimension combination. The option does not add duplicate dimensions to the table.

Override table details

If you have selected a group, click this option to update the details in the table with the active dimensions of the selected group. The option is not enabled if transactions have processed for any previously assigned item and dimension combinations.

As dimensions are added to the table, the dimension conversion becomes read-only format.

Note: Once a transaction is processed for the item/dimension combination, you cannot delete the dimension from the table. If there are no transactions recorded for an item, you can delete the dimension assignments clicking the dimension type field and then clicking rubbish.
