Days paid for Holiday Pay

Number of working days in the pay period  For the purposes of the Standard Pay, the number shown in this field is the number of days or hours that the Standard Pay represents. For example:

  • 40 hours wages plus allowances stands for 5 days pay so Days Paid is 5 if you are using the Holiday Pay method of paying Holiday Pay by the day or.
  • 40 hours wages plus allowances stands for 40 hours pay so Hours Paid is 40 if you are using the Holiday Pay method of paying Holiday Pay by the hour.

This field will default to a number based upon the employee's pay frequency:

  • Weekly = 5 days paid or 40 hrs
  • Fortnightly = 10 days paid or 80 hrs
  • Bi-Monthly = 10.83 days paid or 86.67 hrs
  • Monthly = 21.67 days paid or 173.33 hrs

Agreed Definition of a Week  This field specifies how many days or hours are in a working week for the employee - this value will be used when converting Holiday balances and entitlements between weeks and days/hours. The default value is based on employees’ usual days/hours.

If an employee's Agreed Definition of a Week value changes at any time, this will affect their hourly or daily Holiday Pay balance and entitlement. (Changing the Number of working Days/Hours in the pay period value automatically prompts you to update the definition of a week.) Options that determine how the employee's balances will be affected are available on the Leave Management Setup window.

Days Paid for Average Daily Rate/Relevant Daily Rate

Number of Actual Days paid in the pay period  This field value should represent the number of whole or part actual days that the employee is being paid for (including any paid leave taken) in the pay period. If you are in Hours, enter the standard hours equivalent. For example, if an employee has worked 5 full days and 1 half day you would enter 5.5 days.
