Posting Class Creation: Configuration Prerequisites

Before starting to create posting classes, you must be sure that the system has been configured properly and that all required entities have been created, as described in the following sections.

Enabling the Needed Features

On the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form, the Inventory feature must be enabled. The basic functionality of this feature provides one default warehouse and the ability to use stock items in the system.

Configuring the System

Before you configure posting classes, you need to make sure that the following configuration tasks have been performed in the system:

• On the Chart of Accounts (GL202500) form, all GL accounts that you will use for inventory have been added. For details, see Company Without Branches: General Information.
• On the Reason Codes (CS211000) form, all reason codes that you will use for inventory have been added. For more information, see Reason Code Creation: Implementation Activity.
