Factory Order Entry

If the option Allow link to Sales Orders is selected on the Manufacturing User Preferences form, the SO-FO Link form displays when you save the order after entering a factory order line for an item with backorders. You can also access this form by clicking the SO Link button on the form header.

These details display in the form header:

• Inventory item - Taken from sales order line code.
• Unit of measure - Taken from the sales order line unit of measure.
• Location - Taken from the sales order line item location, if locations are in use
• Outstanding - The outstanding quantity of the factory order from which this form was opened.
• Entered - The total of the linking quantities entered in the table.
• Difference - The quantity outstanding less the quantity entered.

Factory Order Table

The table displays sales order lines that meet these criteria:

• Sales order line item is the same as the manufacturing parent item.
• Sales order line location is the same as the factory order location.
• Sales order line has a backorder quantity.
• Sales order line has an unallocated quantity not already linked to a factory order).

To link the factory order to one or more sales orders, update the Linking Qty for each order displayed in the table. The sum of all Linking Qtys cannot be greater than the Outstanding Quantity. The linking quantity for an individual sales order cannot be greater than the Unallocated Qty for that order.

When linking quantities have been updated, click the Save icon.

Click the SO Link button from the Factory Order Entry form to change or adjust linked quantities, as long as the factory order line remains unreceived.

Cancelling Factory Orders

If you cancel a factory order that has a linked quantity, a warning message displays. If you reduce the factory order Qty Required to a quantity that is less than an existing links for the order, the SO-FO Link form displays so that you can adjust the linked quantities.
