Activate File2Greentree
The Inbound Filing feature is activated by running the File2Greentree.exe file in the \bin directory.
To activate File2Greentree:
- Open the File2Greentree.ini file in the \bin directory.
- Update the Hostname with the name of your server.
- Update the Port Number with the number of your SOAP server port.
- Update the GT User name
with your Greentree Desktop
Login User name.
Note: If multiple users use the same computer, you should create a generic user — for example: filing. Use this to distribute the .ini file using Connection Manager. The File By User and Date and Time Filed displays on the Security tab on the Inbound Filing form.

Ensure that a Web Service Console is running. The console is the same web Service engine that services the various web eModules and inbound emails. If you already have the Console running for any eModule, you do not need to configure and start another console.
- Run File2Greentree.exe file by double clicking the file in the \bin directory.
- The green dog icon displays on the desktop.
- Right-click the icon and choose to display the Filing form.
You can now drag and drop files to the Folder icon store the file in Greentree Desktop as an attachment.
Note: You must perform these steps on each workstation that uses this feature.
