Allocate Masterfiles to a Tree Branch
To allocate masterfiles to a tree branch, click the All Unallocated branch to view the records that have not already been allocated to a branch. You can select:
- One record to allocate by clicking the line on the display table.
- All records to allocate by clicking the Select All button.
- A range of records by making individual selections. To do this, click the first line for selection, then hold the Control key down while clicking additional selections.
- A range of records by clicking the Select Range button.
You can select accounts by entering a From and To range, or by using a wildcard. If you use a wildcard, only one account field displays on this form. You can enter a wildcard (*) into one or more of the account segments to select all accounts that meet the criteria.
Note: The Select Range option is not available for all trees.
Selected records are highlighted in the display table. To move them to a branch, click them and drag them into the tree branch, which displays on the left side of the assignment form.
Once a masterfile is allocated to a branch, it no longer displays in the All Unallocated branch. It displays under the branch it was allocated to.
Note: You can move masterfiles back into the All Unallocated branch, or into a different branch.
