Price Hierarchy

If the Advanced Pricing module:

  • Is in use, Greentree determines the selling price for an item using the hierarchy specified in the advanced pricing set up.
  • Is not in use, Greentree determines the selling price to default to transaction lines based on this hierarchy:
    • Price Maintenance, if there is a specific price set up for the item, Greentree uses this price. Prices can be set up by location, unit of measure, price book, and currency. Quantity break and date range discounts can also be set up here. If a discount is defined, Greentree applies the discount to the selling price, and show this as a separate value in the transaction line. If the user does not enter a specific selling price for an item, a markup or margin may be applied instead, in which case the selling price is calculated by applying a markup or margin to the base cost of the item.
    • If there is no price (or markup) set up in the Price Maintenance form, Greentree will access Price Book Maintenance to see if any markup or margin is assigned at a price book level, or at a price book/IN analysis code level. This is an easy way to set up prices if the same markup or margin applies to all items that are sold using a common price book, and/or have the same analysis code.
    • If no price or markup percentage can be found, Greentree returns a price of zero to the transaction line
