Advanced Pricing Structure Maintenance

This function is enabled if the Advanced Pricing module is in use.

Use it to define the pricing hierarchy that the system uses when searching for a price to return to an inventory line during transaction entry, or for an enquiry.

When you first open this form, you must select Use Advanced Pricing if you want the rest of the form to become visible. This also enables menu options for advanced pricing function.

Use Best Price

If you select this option, the hierarchy displayed in the table is not applicable. When searching for a price, Greentree searches for every price it can find for the item, using the unique combinations of the transaction line, or enquiry parameters. It returns the lowest price.

Select Hierarchy

Select this option to be specific about the hierarchy you want apply when it is searching for an item price.

Select the Include column next to the pricing method if you want it to be included in the search hierarchy (this would imply that you have actually set prices up using this method, in the Advanced Pricing Maintenance form). If you do not select a method, Greentree ignores any prices set up using these methods when it is searching for a price.

Change the sort order of the methods in this table by clicking and dragging, using the mouse. The nature of the hierarchy means that when searching for a price, Greentree will first look for prices set up using the included method positioned at the top of this table. If it finds one, it will stop looking, and return that price. If it does not find one, it continues the search and look for prices set up using an included method positioned next in the table. If it finds one, it stops looking.

If you're using the advanced pricing module, you can define alternate default price books for specific customer and item combinations.
