Custom Tab
Use this form to assign and display inventory item tree and user-defined field information.
If an inventory
tree is defined as Mandatory,
then you can't save a new item unless you have allocated it to a branch
in that tree.
You cannot remove an item from a tree from this form. You can only remove an item using a tree maintenance form.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Inventory item trees table
To assign an item to a tree branch, double click the name of the tree in the table to display associated branches and then select or change the tree branch for the item (trees displays based on what is defined in UT Tree Maintenance for IN Inventory Items). This function may also be performed using Inventory Item Tree Maintenance, in which case the pre-assigned branch value for the selected item displays here.
Inventory item fields table
Enter the values for custom fields. Custom fields can also be defined for items at an analysis code level. If these have been set up, then fields will only appear against items that have the specific analysis code for which user-defined fields have been set up.
Fields set up in Inventory Item User Field Maintenance appear for all items, regardless of the analysis code that is assigned to them.
Transaction trees table
This table displays the transaction trees set up to analyse data at an item level. The Available flag can be set individually for an account here, or in bulk using the Transaction Tree Assignment form.
You can select the Mandatory option at an account level, or in bulk using the Transaction Tree Assignment form. If this is selected, a branch must be assigned during transaction entry for this masterfile/tree.
Both the Available and Mandatory indicators allow flexibility in terms of making trees (and the subsequent assignment of branch data) available to some but not all masterfiles, and mandatory only.
Transaction fields table
This table displays the transaction fields applicable.
