Selling Price
If the Advanced Pricing module is in use, Greentree determines the selling price for an item using the option specified by the user in Advanced Pricing Structure Maintenance — best price or user-defined hierarchy.
If the Advanced Pricing module is not in use, Greentree determines the selling price for an inventory item based on this hierarchy:
- IN Selling Price Maintenance if there is a price set up for the item, Greentree uses this price. Prices can be set up by location, unit of measure, price book, and currency. Quantity break and date-based discounts can also be set up here. If a discount is set up, Greentree applies the discount to the selling price (this can be an actual price, or a discount %). If the user does not enter a specific selling price for the item, a markup % may be used instead (if the IN Module Control Markup indicator is % Entered and Shown as Markups). In this case, the selling price is determined by a markup or margin being applied to the item cost.
- If there is no price (or markup) set up in IN Selling Price Maintenance for the item, Greentree will go to IN Price Books Maintenance to look for markups or margins, which can be assigned globally, or by analysis code. For example, the user could set up a 100% markup to apply for all items, or set up a 20% markup to apply to Analysis Code 1 items, 50% markup to apply to Analysis Code 2 items, and the like.
- If no price or markup/margin can be found, Greentree returns a price of zero.
