Generic Unit Conversion Maintenance
This function is enabled if the Volume/Unit Conversions module is in use.
Use it to define quantity relationships between different units of measure, so that Greentree can perform conversions during transaction entry. For example, if an item has a stocking unit of measure of CTN, and a selling unit of measure of BOX, you can set up a generic conversion factor here, which indicates how many boxes there are in a carton.
When a sale transaction is processed (where the sale quantity is for the selling unit of measure), Greentree can convert the quantity back into the stocking unit of measure for maintaining inventory balances.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
From/To Unit
Select from and to units from the list of units already set up in Units of Measure Maintenance.
Convert Rate
This is the rate used to convert the FROM unit to the TO unit.
For example, to convert BOX to EACH, Greentree applies a factor of 10. If an item has a selling unit of measure = BOX and a stocking unit of measure = EACH, if one BOX is sold, the transaction quantity (1) will be multiplied by 10 to convert it to EACH, the stocking unit of measure.
An example of both from and to conversions displays at the base of the form for the selected conversion.
Enter conversions in the form, or into the table. You can also edit and delete lines in the table by pressing Shift-F2.

Conversions specified are only generic, and can be overridden at an item level in the Unit of Measure Maintenance form. |
