[1]While this is okay, I think "Setting Up" would be more appropriate; the chunk covers the configuration side (while also showing how the settings affect the costs in some brief real-time processes that are not really what the chunk is about). It also causes this chunk title to better fit those of the surrounding chunks. Whatever you decide, please try to echo the verb in the text.2024/06/1914:15:51-04:00Managing Item Costs and Valuation Methods
In MYOB Acumatica, you can assign a particular valuation method to a stock item [2]I'm not sure this wording is right because it makes it sound like you are assigning a unique valuation method to every item (otherwise, it would not be tracked differently from other items)--but this does not seem to be the case. You can assign the same method to multiple items, so an item's cost will be tracked in the same way other items with that valuation method are. As I understand, the goal is to valuate each item in the most appropriate way so that the company can assess the overall value of its inventory. So maybe we want to mention something along those lines? Alternatively (or in addition; it's preferable to have 2-3 sentences rather than just one), in the applicable scenario in the GI topic, you say "to make the system track the item's cost based on how your company currently sells and purchases the item." I think this is better phrasing.2024/06/1811:16:03-04:00to make the system track the item's cost differently from other items.
