External File Storage

Form ID: (SM202540)

In MYOB Advanced, the imported files are stored in the MYOB Advanced database by default. Alternatively, you can use this form to select where files should be stored—in a local folder on the machine running the MYOB Advanced website or in a public storage service, such as Azure Blob or Amazon S3. For more information, see External Storage: General Information.

Note: File storage configuration cannot be changed in a cloud environment; however, MYOB Advanced business partners can change it in their desktop test environments.

On this form, you configure external file storage providers, specify the location for storing newly imported files, and move the files between the database and the external file storage.

Form Toolbar

The form toolbar includes standard and form-specific buttons and commands. For the list of standard buttons, see Form Toolbar and More Menu. The form-specific commands are listed in the following table.

Button Description
Enable Provider Enables the provider you have configured. After you click this button, you cannot change provider settings, and from now on, all newly imported files will be stored in the specified folder.
Switch Direction Toggles between the database and external storage without disabling the current provider. When the files are stored to the database, the Allow Saving Files check box in the Selection area is cleared. When the files are stored to the external storage, the Allow Saving Files check box is selected.
Disable Provider Disables the currently enabled provider, so you can either modify the current provider settings or configure settings for an alternate provider.

This button is available when all the files are moved to the database.
