Overtime Rules

You use this form to configure a list of overtime rules to be applied to an employee paycheck.
The overtime rules will be used during the paycheck calculation to transform regular hours in overtime hours according to the settings. The rules can be disabled at the employee, batch or paycheck level. The daily rules will apply to all the pay groups, but weekly rules will apply only to weekly and biweekly pay groups.

Table
You use this table to enter the details for a particular overtime rule.

| Active | A check box that indicates (if selected) that this rule is available for application to a paycheck. |
| Overtime Rule | The unique identifier of the rule. |
| Description | The description of this rule. |
| Disbursing Earning Type | An earning type code to be used for additional hours created according to the overtime rule. Only earning codes for which the Overtime category is selected on the Earning Type Codes (PR102000) are available for selection. |
| Multiplier | Read only. A numeric value that is multiplied by the employee's standard pay rate in order to determine the final pay rate as defined for the selected disbursing earning type. |
| Type | Defines basis on which the rule converts hours to overtime hours. The following options are available: Daily and Weekly. |
| Day of Week | The day of a week when the rule applies, if the Daily option is selected in the Type column. |
| Threshold for Overtime (Hours) | The number of hours after which the system starts converting hours to overtime hours. |
| State | The state associated with the rule. If a state is specified, the system only uses the hours linked with the specified state to calculate the overtime. For example, if Oregon is specified for the rule and employee worked 50 hours in Pennsylvania, the system does not apply the rule while calculating overtime for the employee. |
| Union Locals | The union associated with the rule. If a union is specified, the system only uses the hours linked with the union to calculate the overtime. For example, if Oregon Union is specified for the rule and employee worked 50 hours in Pennsylvania Union, the system does not apply the rule while calculating overtime for the employee. |
| Project | The project associated with the rule. If a project is specified, the system only uses the hours linked with the project to calculate the overtime. For example, if the HOTEL project is specified for the rule and employee worked 50 hours on the HOUSE project, the system does not apply the rule while calculating overtime for the employee. |
