Backorder Release Process

If a backorder is fully linked with a factory order, the backorder is not available for release using this process.

If a backorder is only partially linked, and you click the:

• Available only button and Allow partial release is selected, the quantity to release is the backorder quantity less the linked quantity.
• Available only button and Allow partial release is not selected, the backorder is not available for release using this process.
• All Backorders button and Allow partial release is selected, then any available quantities is released using the process, regardless of any linked quantities.
• All Backorders button and Allow partial release is not selected, only available quantities that are greater than or equal to the full backorder quantity is released, regardless of any linked quantities.

Although the backorder is released, the original linking quantity is still retained, and must be updated using the SO-FO Link form to adjust for any remaining backorder quantity.
