Location Logic

The hierarchy for determining which location to which to default POS sales entry lines is:

  1. Use the item's primary location if it is specified on the Inventory Item Maintenance form, and it matches the location level defined for the station.
  2. Use the first location of the item that matches the location level defined for the station.
  3. Return the error: Location (station location) must be set for this inventory item.

Note: The Inventory Module Control Validate Locations option is always assumed to be selected when the Point of Sale module is in use.

This enforces the requirement to specify locations for items on the Inventory Item Maintenance form.
