Price Hierarchy
If the Advanced Pricing module:
- Is in use, Greentree Desktop
determines the selling price for an item using the hierarchy specified
in the advanced pricing set up.
- Is not in use, Greentree Desktop determines
the selling price to default to transaction lines based on this hierarchy:
- Price Maintenance, if there is a specific price set up for
the item, Greentree Desktop
uses this price. You can set up prices by location, unit of measure,
price book, and currency. You can also set up quantity break and
date range discounts. If you define a discount, Greentree Desktop it
to the selling price, and shows it as a separate value in the
transaction line. If you do not enter a specific selling price
for an item, you can apply a markup or margin. The selling price
is calculated by applying a markup or margin to the base cost
of the item.
- If there is no price (or markup) set up on the Price Maintenance
form, Greentree Desktop
accesses the Price Book Maintenance form to see if any markup
or margin is assigned at a price book level, or at a price book
or IN analysis code level.
- If no price or markup percentage can be found, Greentree Desktop returns
a price of zero to the transaction line
