If label printing is enabled on the Inventory Module Control form, the Labels form displays for each item on the Inventory Item Maintenance form.
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Note: Defaults for each item are derived from the Inventory Module Control form. You can change them for each item.
Print receiving/storage labels
Select this option to enable label printing for the item and/or for stocking.
Default transaction line printing options
These options default when receiving labels are printed for the item. You can change them when you run the report if you're printing labels from a receiving form.
Print 1 label per line (default)
Select this option to print a single label (for an item), regardless of the received quantity.
Print based on receiving quantity
Select this option to print a number of labels using the receipted quantity of the item. When you select this option, you can indicate the number of labels to print per unit. For example, if 10 units are received for an item, 10 labels print for that item.
If Volume/Unit conversions are in use, select the item's stocking, selling, or purchasing unit as the base unit for the label quantity conversion from the Base unit field.
Print barcode
This option is enabled if there are barcodes for inventory items. Select the option to print the item barcode on labels.
Note: When this option is selected, Greentree Desktop checks that all existing item barcodes have a unit of measure assigned to them on the Inventory Options Maintenance form.
You must print barcodes on labels. You can set up multiple barcodes for different units of measure. You must also select the Barcode UOM to print option so Greentree Desktop knows which barcode to print on the item label.
A message displays if you select this option for an item and the item has no barcodes assigned to it. You can't select a unit of measure in the Barcode UOM to print field because this list displays only units that are for barcodes already set up for the item.
Print serial/lot number
This field is enabled if the item is serial/lot controlled and the option to Print based on receiving quantity is selected.
Select this option to print serial/lot numbers on labels.
Print retail pricing labels
Select this option to print retail price labels for the item.
Print options
These options default when you print labels for the item from the Reports > Inventory menu.
If you select this option, a Barcode UOM to print field becomes visible and must also be selected.
