Reorder Calculation
When you click the Calculate
button on the Inventory Re-Ordering form, Greentree Desktop
applies this logic:
- Remove any old reorder data if the same run is processed before.
- Loop through items and process each item with the steps below:
- Select the item depending on:
- Item is in the range entered into the reorder run parameters
- Item is active
- Item is not non-diminishing
- Item status allows purchases
- Item has an analysis code using the analysis code range
entered into the reorder run parameters
- Item is for a location that falls into the warehouse/location
range entered into the reorder run parameters.
- Check whether the item is superceded (if the Supercessions
module is in use). If it has been superceded, exclude it from
the process.
- Search supplier details to find an item or location (if applicable)
match, so that specific supplier details can be used. Check to
see if there is a preferred supplier which is applicable if you
select the Preferred Supplier
Only option as a reorder run parameter.
- Search item reorder details to get the minimum, maximum, EOQ,
shipping method and lead time values. The lead time and shipping
method may be superceded by that (previously) obtained from the
supplier details. If no reorder details exist for an item, it
is excluded from the process.
A reorder quantity is suggested for an item if the potential
quantity (calculated as on-hand
+ future quantity + quantity on order - quantity committed to
orders - quantity on backorder) drops below a certain level,
which depends on the reorder type of the item:
- Minimum/Maximum
- Forecast
- No reorder required
Suggested reorder quantities are adjusted using the EOQ factor assigned
on the Supplier Maintenance form, if specified (quantities rounded up
to EOQ multiple).
